Tuition Programs

• 1 lesson: 55 minutes
• Minimum age: 17
• Schedule:
  4 lessons per week: evening course twice a week from 6:30 to 8:30 PM
   
  6 lessons per week: all week except Wednesday from 8:30 to 10AM or from
  5 to 6:30PM
  
  9 lessons per week: all week except Wednesday and Friday from 10AM to 1PM or 2 to 5PM
  
  12 lessons per week: all week except Wednesday from 10AM to 1PM or 2 to 5PM
  
  15 lessons per week: all week from 10AM to 1PM or 2 to 5PM
  
  20 lessons per week: all week from 9AM to 1PM or 2 to 6PM

• Workshops: written and/or oral expression: 3 lessons per week: on Wednesday only, from 10AM to 1PM or 2 to 5PM. "Wednesday workshops" To enrich, deepen and diversify the training provided in our courses in subjects such as : • phonetics • culture and civilisation (cooking, fashion ...) • literature • preparation to DELF, DALF exams • business french (with visits of companies) • writing workshop, theatre.

OUR PEDAGOGY
We offer French courses whose aim is to rapidly develop the student's skills of expression and comprehension, both oral and written, at all levels Among the methods used are programmed video as well as authentic documents (films, news and TV programmes, newspaper articles, selected works from literature and theatre, poetry ...). The teaching staff themselves develop exercises adapted to the documents being studied.They implement a communication methodology which encourages intercultural exchanges, with activities such as : • presentations followed by a debate • role-play games • conversation and also written exercises : • stories • summaries • progess-reports • letters To ensure that everyone can take an active part, we limit the number of ,students per class.Extra-educational activities Extra-educationcal activities and excursions are arranged for all the students : cinema, theatre, museums, exhibitions, visits to an area of the city or a monument. These activities are prepared during the class.

THE TEAM
Teachers with degrees from the SORBONNE and specialized in the teaching of French as a foreign language. They have been working together in that field for many years and make an efficient team combining a know-how both in administration and pedagogy. They are helped by a team of teachers with university degrees and using in their classes pedagogical methods encouraging communication.

THE SCHOOL
Is situated in Le Marais area of Paris, in a typical old Parisian courtyard between the Place des Vosges and the Georges Pompidou centre. The classrooms are spacious, pleasant and quiet and there is a "press and internet" corner for the students and a multimedia space. The convivial atmosphere and surroundings stimulate and encourage exchange between students of different nationalities. The school is open all year round (except between Xmas and New Year’s Day). Our courses are aimed at : • students of all nationalities • employees undergoing professional training • groups on language-learning holidays • teachers of French as a foreign language • young ladies employed as 'au pair'

Absolute beginners
Beginners (preparation for DELF A1) the student will learn : • to introduce oneself • to ask for information • to describe • to refuse - to accept • to express likes and dislikes • to express an opinion • to write simple letters • to make comparisons • to understand written and oral documents according to this level

Intermediate 1 (DELF A2)
Intermediate 2 (DELF B1) the student will learn : • to describe memories • to make projects • to write a story • to write an official letter • to summarize a text • to report a speech • to understand written and oral documents according to this level

One time placement fee: 150€

Our greeting families are recruited with great care. The criteria of selection are very rigorous and each family must satisfy a precise conditions of contract: : excellent morality, desire to communicate with their host, satisfactory social standing. We should specify that the families will only speak with you the language of the country where you will be. It is the principle of the immersion courses!

Exemple: programme Octobre 2006   Mercredi 4 Séance de cinéma : LES CHORISTES   Découvrez le film qui a fait chanter toute la France ! Cinéma Le Denfert. Mercredi 11 VISITE GUIDEE DU MUSEE GUSTAVE MOREAU   Venez visiter ce musée pas comme les autres, la maison où ce peintre symboliste a vécu et l'atelier où il a organisé avant sa mort l'installation de ses oeuvres pour la postérité. Rien n'a changé depuis un siècle ! Vous découvrirez l'univers fantastique et mythologique de cet artiste hors du commun. Rendez-vous à 14 h 30 devant le musée : 14, rue de la Rochefoucauld. M° Trinité. Mercredi 18 VISITE GUIDEE DE LA PLACE DES VOSGES ET DE LA MAISON DE VICTOR HUGO   Victor Hugo a habité de 1832 à 1848 au second étage de l'hôtel de Rohan Guéménée, sur la place des Vosges. Vous découvrirez comment a été créé le quartier du Marais, et comment est née l'ancienne place Royale. Rendez-vous avec Sylvie à 14 h 30 à l'entrée du M° Saint-Paul (ligne 12). Mercredi 25 VISITE GUIDEE DU MUSEE D'ORSAY   Cette ancienne gare abrite aujourd'hui toute la collection d'art de la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle, du Second Empire à l'Art nouveau : peinture, sculpture et photographie sont réunies pour témoigner d'une époque extrêmement créative. Rendez-vous avec Sylvie à 15h à l'Accueil des groupes, rue de Lille (porte jaune). M° Solférino.
